Hi, my name is Kelly Echols. How did I get into custom concrete? I bought a house in Hawaii a few years ago and I had the ugliest driveway on the block. I paid some guys to come and put an epoxy/portland mix of concrete over it and stamp it. They broke a sledge hammer about 30 minutes into the job, left and never came back. So I went to Vegas, took a class from Concrete Solutions (Bart and Jerry), and did the job myself. It was labor intensive and I never want to do another!
Well, I wanted to do my countertops, so I went to take a class by Buddy Rhodes in San Francisco. I had so much fun - and my counters turned out so great - that I started doing a few jobs for friends. I now live between Hawaii and Hood River, Oregon. I have a small nursing agency, Island Nurses on Oahu, and keep the creative juices alive with Genuine Concrete.
